1999 Saw a much expanded and more ambitious season for the DIXIE. We had seven shows and our first musical act, the Folk Revival. The season included Greater Tuna, a show that was to become a DIXIE favorite. As our repertoire grew, so did our popularity and support. We could not have ever grown to what the second season had in store for the theater goers if it weren't for the many volunteers and we sincerely hope that every one of those workers looks back as fondly on the productions as we do.e of those volunteer workers looks back as fondly on the productions that couldn't have happened without them as those who performed on stage and watched from our theater do.
Our second season gave us much to be proud of and much to hope for. We were truly on our way . . .
On any given afternoon, when there are no rehearsals or performances taking place in the main hall, you are likely to find a single, solitary light bulb lighting the stage of the Dixie Theatre.
