The Dixie Theatre
1913 ~ 2012

Bringing live professional theatre to the
Forgotten Coast

DEAR Visitor,

Happy New Year to all, let the celebrations begin!
We're gonna keep this short & sweet, so here goes:

As we begin our 15th year of live professional theatre, music and dance at it's best, we're delighted with all the wonderful shows we have in the line up and 2012 marks the Dixie Theatre's first 100 years in Apalachicola.

Nancy Hasty's Florida Girls

Nancy HastyWe're kicking things off with Nancy Hasty's Florida Girls and it's gonna be nothing but fun, fun, fun! She's only here one weekend, so be sure to catch this brilliant one-woman show with 15 hilarious true-to-life characters in the tradition of Lily Tomlin, you’ll laugh yourself silly January 6, 7, 8.

Margo Anderson

Margo AndersonOn January 13, 14 & 15, Margo Anderson returns with her Country Gold Band for her 6th appearance at the Dixie and she's become an audience favorite with her Tribute to Patsy Cline.  Margo's clear, powerful voice will captivate you as will her warm, sensitive interpretation of Patsy's down-home wit and timeless songs.

Pas de Vie

Pas De Vie dancers on stageThen on January 21, 22 – Pas de Vie, Tallahassee’s premiere ballet company, returns to the Dixie after a fabulous standing ovation performance in 2011. We're offering a student performance on Friday January 20 at 4:30 PM. Other than that, all performances in January will be Friday & Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday at 3 PM.

Todd Allen Herendeen

Todd on the Dixie StageTo end January with a bang, spectacular tribute artist Todd Allen Herendeen & his Follow That Dream Band return on January 27, 28, 29 with Elvis & Friends do the Dixie. This has become one of the Dixie Theatre’s most popular shows. . . Elvis is joined by Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison among others.

Schedule Change

One rather important bit of news is that we've already had a schedule change for this coming season. While we weren't too thrilled when Cloud 9 Orchestra suddenly cancelled their show, it seems to have been an incredible stroke of luck for us after all.

Gabriel Russo on stage.Gabriel Russo is now scheduled to bring SummerWind: An Intimate Evening with Frank Sinatra to the Dixie stage on February 17, 18 & 19. If you have a moment, go to the Dixie website calendar where we have links to most of the performers websites, check out Gabriel's own website and see what a treat we're all in for...he's amazing, and if you love old blue eyes, you'll be speechless. Here's what Bob Reneke, Mr. Sinatra's long-time personal assistant had to say about Gabes performance "This guy has Frank's style and snap, nobody else has it."

This is as close as it gets, so don't miss your chance to experience one of the best schedule changes the Dixie will ever have.

Nick is ready to meet all your reservation needs so be sure to get your requests in early.
